Information about Juliana
My name is Juliana and I am from Edmonton, Alberta. I graduated from an online high school at the age of 16 and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, majoring in chemistry. I interrupted my university experience to serve a volunteer mission for my church in Kirtland, Ohio, where I taught children`s music and religion lessons, as well as guided tours through a historical church site.
Through my time as an undergraduate student, I have been a teaching assistant and research assistant. I currently work in a bioanalytical chemistry research laboratory, studying lipid biomarkers of Alzheimer`s disease. Although I find the research fascinating, I much prefer my teaching job. I expect to graduate from Brigham Young University with a BA in Chemistry in April 2019.
Availability: I will be available to start tutoring on April 25, 2019, when I graduate from university with an undergraduate degree in chemistry. After April 25, my availability is open, and I would be able to tutor full-time.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been a chemistry teaching assistant at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah for 8 semesters. There, I have taught general, organic, and physical chemistry, as well as advanced chemistry technical writing. In addition to teaching large classes, I spend most of my time tutoring students individually at all levels. Last year, I won the university`s Garth L. Lee Undergraduate Teaching Award.
For the past school year, I have been tutoring a struggling high school student in AP chemistry as well.
